Oh Redlands!

So my good friend Gaby asked me to guest ride with her this year at Redlands for Bicycle John's. I am so not fit right now! The Germans are stomping on me and the Aussies are causing immense suffering. It's wonderful!!! I couldn't as for better training than this. The Oak Glen stage is back and just as much suffering as I remembered. Somehow I always manage to be in the peloton at the base of the climb and then I just can't remember anything after that. I did manage to get into a break on one of the early flat sections but after a few minutes of intense fast pace line pulls I had to throw in the towel and head back to the peloton. It was disappointing but I was so out gunned and I just couldn't keep up the watts needed to stay with that group. Those ladies were so impressive. Fortunately for me that break was sucked back in before the next sprint hot spot, which was only a few minutes after I returned to the peloton. So yeah, I meant to do that.

No pictures yet as I am on the solo trip without my Brent. Hopefully he can steal some and post them for me, hint hint.

GOOOOOO JenJen!!! When the going gets tough, just remember these words of wisdom:

"Are you nervous??? Are you nervous, Jen? Because if I were you I would be shitting my pants right now."

Crit was tough!
Jen called to give the scoop.

There were some Aaron's riders who crashed into each other causing a split in the field.
Dotsie Bausch was in the section which was separated and Dotsie drove super hard to get back in.
Soon as they were back together Jen popped off as the effort was too much. Ina, Kristine T, and Brooke Miller took off in a break or something and Jen had to Solo a few laps to keep from getting time cut.

Fitness isn't there yet but after only a couple of races she doing pretty good for going to an NRC.
